Traffic is flowing again on Sumneytown Pike between Allentown and Church Roads in Upper Gwynedd. It re-opened on Friday after being closed for about 15 months while crews re-built the roadway and installed a new overhead freight railroad bridge. It now has two through lanes in each direction and turning lanes at the intersection with Church Road and West Point Pike. Detour signs were still in place at several locations early Friday afternoon, but they will be taken down soon. Township Manager Len Perrone says the Upper Gwynedd Township Commissioners and staff want to thank residents and business owners for their patience during the Sumneytown Pike Reconstruction Project, which has been disruptive for some people.
