Saint Luke’s Hospital and Health Network has bought 30 acres of land in Milford Township as a possible future location for a new hospital. It’s located at Route 663 and Portzer Road, about a half-mile from Route 309. Saint Luke’s Quakertown Hospital President Ed Nawrocki says they anticipate having a significant presence at the site within ten years, and the Quakertown hospital could be moved to the site if relocation becomes necessary, but there are no immediate plans to move. It’s located about halfway between the Quakertown campus and the Upper Perkiomen Outpatient Center, which opened in 2009. A recent report by the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council says Saint Luke’s in Quakertown is the fastest-growing hospital in the seven-county region of Philadelphia, the suburbs and the Lehigh Valley.
