Windowizards Still Doing Installations

windowizardsBucks County Consumer Protection Director Michael Bannon says the recent bankruptcy filing by Windowizards founder Harvey Goodman is just one more development in a case that started in mid-December, when the company shut down abruptly and without warning. He says the Bristol Township-based home improvement company has had a couple of other stops and starts since then, but it apparently has not affected door and window installations because the work is continuing.

“For about the last two weeks they seem to be on track and it actually seems to be going pretty strong.  They have quite a few different crews working for them, so it’s picked up significantly in the past two weeks.”

He says the work has been stop-and-go in an unusual case.

“There have been all sorts of twists and turns over the time.  It’s unusual that we continue to progress in this situation, and we’re hoping too that there’ll be a positive ending for everybody at the end of this, but we’ll see.  Time will tell.”

Bannon says some customers are getting installations, while others are getting refunds on their deposits.  He says he’s on guard and cautious that Windowizards could shut down again, but he hopes it won’t happen.  The company is filling existing orders, but not taking new ones.
