There's been a change in management at the municipal pool in Towamencin. The township supervisors have approved a contract with the North Penn YMCA that will put the community service organization in charge of everyday operations at the facility on Weikel Road for the upcoming season. The YMCA will do the job for about $132,000. That includes hiring of employees and application of pool chemicals. The management position at the pool became vacant when long time pool manager Beth McConnell decided not to take the job this year for the salary the township had budgeted. She will remain coach of the swim team though and township officials say the team will have pool access for meets and practice just as it did in previous seasons.
