Towamencin officials want to make it easier to track purchases the township makes on credit. They are getting Visa cards for the information technology, public works and police departments. Currently there is only one and it is shared by all of the department heads so when the invoice arrives there can be some confusion about where the transaction originated. That won't be a problem under the new scenario since the purchases made on each credit card will be listed separately on the billing statement. Township officials say the additional plastic won't make it any more difficult to control costs. They also say the township uses its credit wisely and does not carry a balance from month to month.
