Manna on Main Street Executive Director Tom Allebach says they hope to sign a lease very soon for a newer building. He says the old one, next to Saint John’s United Church of Christ in Lansdale, is too small.
“It is a small brick house, a total of about 800 square feet. There are four of us in an office, but that’s not the important part. It’s that the dining area and the food pantry area are one and the same. There’s this constant clutter, and it’s difficult to talk to the people that we serve in a private and respectful way just because of the space.”
Allebach says they want to be able to offer more than just food and a little help with paying bills. He says he cannot reveal the new location, but it’s on Main Street in Lansdale not far from the old one, and they hope to move in early next year. He appeared Tuesday on the WNPV talk program Comment Please by Univest.
