A New Wegman’s Food Market will move into the space that once housed a Boscov’s store at the Montgomery Mall. It was one of several department stores the chain closed a few years ago in bankruptcy reorganization. Wegman’s and mall owner Simon Properties have signed a lease for up to 140,000 square feet of space. The parties are still working out details about whether to renovate the existing store or tear it down and rebuild from scratch, so no opening date has been set, but it’s more than a year away. It would be the third Wegman’s in Montgomery County. The first one opened about two years ago near Collegeville, and the second one is set for an April opening at North Gulph and Warner Roads in King of Prussia.
