Another look at designating a single trash hauler for Lansdale is in the works. The borough paid a consultant $18,000 to study the proposal about five years ago but things did not go beyond that because officials at the time decided it was not administratively practical. Council Vice President Paul Clemente says the report indicated having a single hauler would save residents money, cut air pollution and prevent wear-and-tear on the streets. The discussions about designating a single trash hauler will start in the administration and finance committee after the start of the new year before moving on for the consideration of council as a whole.
