NPUW Releases 3-Year Investment Plan

united_wayThe North Penn United Way has released its final plan for investing in the North Penn-Indian Valley area over the next three years. Executive Director Sarah Whetstone says a key part of the plan calls for looking beyond United Way agencies and bringing the entire community together.

“It takes a village.  You’ve heard that before.  It takes a village to get things done, and that’s not just nonprofit agencies providing direct services.  We need to look to the bigger issues, the bigger policies, how we can work more collaboratively together in an economic environment such as we’re seeing right now and find low-cost and no-cost solutions to our problems.”

Whetstone says agencies applying for funding over the three-year investment cycle will have to align their programs with the three targeted goals of student success, keeping older adults independent in their homes and ensuring that all community members have access to safety-net services during times of crisis.
