Hero's Day has been celebrated at the Medal of Honor Grove adjacent Valley Forge National Park. The names of 35 posthumous recipients of the highest military decoration bestowed by the nation are now enshrined upon the monuments there. They fought in Korea and Vietnam as well as Afghanistan and Iraq. Four of them are from Pennsylvania. The ceremony was the first one in 20-years. The Grove fell into a state of neglect after Freedoms Foundation, the owner of the property, was faced by financial difficulties. Volunteers took it upon themselves to cleanup the Grove and raise the money to update its roll of honor.
