The Montgomery County Health department is reminding residents to have their pets vaccinated for rabies. Halfway through the year, the department’s Communicable Disease Specialist Mike Baysinger says they’ve had animals testing positive for the disease.
“We’re already up to seven cases. For the last 10 years we averaged 10 to 20 cases yearly, so we’re probably right on pace to hit 17-18 cases this year.”
A rabies clinic is set for Saturday, June 16, from 9:00am until 11:00am, at Encore Experiences in Harleysville. The cost is $10 per shot.
