Lands Trust Organizations Form Affiliation

The Montgomery County Lands Trust, based in Lower Salford, and the Natural Lands Trust, based in Media, have formed an affiliation. Montgomery County Lands Trust Executive Director Dulcie Flaherty says both organizations have worked very hard to preserve open space.

“We know that it’s really important for clean, healthy, connected communities.  We’re going to continue to do that, but in a time of constrained resources it seemed reasonable to us to look at how we could do more with diminished funding from the state, local and county.”

Flaherty says it’s not a merger because her organization is not going away or changing its mission, and it will continue holding conservation easements in Montgomery County, but the affiliation will help them stretch their dollars a little bit farther.
