The Towamencin Supervisors have approved a resolution that calls for a different name for Exit 31 on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. They want it renamed the Kulpsville-Towamencin Interchange instead of the Lansdale Interchange as it currently is. The resolution also calls for the state lawmakers that represent the township in Harrisburg to lobby the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission to make the change. State Represntatives Bob Godshall, Kate Harper and Matt Bradford addressed the issue with Towamencin officials. Godshall said it would be a tough sell as long as Lansdale Borough Council continues its opposition. Harper and Bradford told them they would search for the middle ground that promotes community pride and a sense of place for the township without making a change that would cause a problem for turnpike users or other communities.
