Perkasie officials plan to renew their teen curfew for another year, but it will lapse briefly before borough council can approve the renewal.
It expires at the end of this month but, because of advertising requirements, council cannot vote on it until November. It requires minors to be off the streets by 11:00pm weekdays and midnight weekends.
Police Chief Joe Gura says they had 15 violations during the past year, and the parents of the offenders received letters in the mail. Its intent was to help curb vandalism, which the chief says is still happening. He says it seems that the incidents occur earlier in the evening, before the curfew takes effect.
