The new Chief Executive Officer at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, Jean Keeler, says it’s hard to predict what will happen under healthcare reform, but people are making educated guesses and one thing is clear.
“How we get paid is about to change, and that’s huge. We have been paid for services, and I think at some point fairly soon we’ll be starting to get paid for keeping people healthy, which is a whole different mindset. It’s a whole different way of looking at payment schemes and how you partner with your physicians.”
Keeler says both primary care physicians and specialists will have to get out into the community and help people to stay healthy. She’s a lawyer who has worked for Grand View Hospital since 1996, most recently as Senior Vice President and General Counsel, and she appeared Tuesday on the WNPV talk program Comment Please by Univest.
