Bucks Co Habitat Restore Profitable, But Short Of Goal

Bucks County Habitat for Humanity Resource Development Director Debbie Lynch says their “Restore” thrift store in Chalfont has been open for a little more than four years and it’s making a profit, but not quite what they would like.

“The goal is that we build a house a year with the proceeds from the Restore.  We’re about halfway there and making progress each year.”

She says its goals are multi-faceted.

“It’s a great place to donate so that we keep things out of landfills.  It has become a recycling center.  It’s a place to volunteer.  It’s a place to purchase needed items at bargain prices.”

Lynch says everything sold at the Restore is donated, and they can always use more furniture, appliances, plumbing fixtures, building supplies and other items for the home, and they can come out with a truck and pick up donations.

The Restore is open Wednesday through Saturday on Oak Drive in Chalfont.  For more information go to habitatbucks.org.
