City Man Charged In Norristown Stabbings

wnpv_police_beatA Philadelphia man is accused of stabbing two men earlier this month in Norristown, killing one and wounding the other. 25-year-old Malik Mack is charged with first and third degree murder, aggravated assault and other offenses.  The victims are identified as 35-year-old Gerald Dogan of Norristown and his friend, 28-year-old Jerry Smith of Malvern.  They had spent the evening socializing.  Court documents say the defendant confronted the victims on Corson Street in the early-morning hours on Sunday, May 9.  Dogan and Mack started fighting, and then when Smith raised his hand to protect his friend, Mack allegedly stabbed Dogan in the neck, slicing off one of Smith’s fingertips.  Smith immediately put Dogan in his car and drove him to Montgomery Hospital, where he died a short time later.  Mack was arrested in Philadelphia on Tuesday, May 18.
