Montco Man Admits Killing AC Casino Worker

gavelA Montgomery County man has admitted stalking and killing a worker in May of last year at Atlantic City’s Taj Mahal Casino. 58-year-old Mark Magee of Norristown pleaded guilty to murder, telling a judge he went to the casino in the morning with a loaded .38-caliber revolver in his pocket and plans to kill 57-year-old shift manager Ray Kot.  The two men knew each other because Magee was a regular gambler at the casino.  He said he stalked the victim for hours, waiting for the right time to strike because he did not want to hurt anyone else.  He said he waited until Kot left the crowded gaming floor, and then followed him into a card and dice room just off the floor.   He told a security guard to move aside and shot the victim three times.  He said he did it because he believed the casino had been cheating him by electronically manipulating table games.  Trump Entertainment Resorts CEO Mark Juliano spoke after the court hearing saying, “The incredibly cold-blooded recitation of the day was shocking.  There really are evil people in the world.”  He said the allegation of cheating was ludicrous.  Tuesday a street corner near the casino will be named Ray Kot Place in his honor.
