A gambler is accused of leaving his one-year-old son in a parked car with the engine and air conditioning running while he played the slots at the Parx Casino in Bucks County. 59-year-old Donald Waige of Philadelphia is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and other offenses. He told police he left his 15-month-old son sleeping in a car seat while he went inside to collect a ten-dollar credit on his player’s card. He said he thought he could collect the credit before the boy woke up, but once he got inside he started gambling and lost track of the time. A passerby called Bensalem Township Police after seeing the child crying inside the car. They opened the door, removed the boy and went inside looking for Waige. He admitted the car was his and the boy was his son.
