Murder Victim’s Nephew Gets 20-40

prison_1A former Montgomery Township man gets serious jail time for his role in a home-invasion robbery that led to his uncle’s murder. A judge has given 26-year-old Angelo Shin 20 to 40 years in state prison for helping several other men plan the robbery that left 58-year-old businessman Robert Chae dead at his home on Gwynmont Drive in Montgomery Township.  Prosecutors say three men entered Chae’s home in January of last year, bound him and his wife and their adult son and daughter with duct tape, beat Chae on the head and face, and left him on the garage floor to suffocate.  Shin, who stayed with the Chae family at one time, told the men his aunt and uncle, who owned a successful beauty supply shop in Center City, kept large sums of money in their home and drove fancy cars.  He gave them directions to the home along with details of their daily routine, and they were ambushed as they started leaving for work.  Montgomery County Judge Thomas Rogers told Shin he was the one person who could have prevented the murder.
