Montco Woman Gets 3 Years For Bribery

prison_1One of three suburban residents who admitted bribing a former Philadelphia Records Department employee has been given three years in federal prison. 43-year-old Tina Meyrick of Hatboro, owner of the Auto Accident Research Service, must also pay the city more than $456,000 in restitution.  39-year-old Kelly Layre admitted selling documents to the three and pocketing the money.  She pleaded guilty to bribery charges several months ago in federal court, and she is up for sentencing later this week.  The other two, one from Montgomery County and one from Bucks County, also pleaded guilty.  47-year-old Paul Kling of Hatfield, and 40-year-old Brian Daly of Chalfont, are up for sentencing in the next few weeks.  In return for the alleged payoffs, they got deep discounts on official police, fire, accident and emergency medical reports.  They paid as little as five or ten dollars for records that normally cost 20 to 25 dollars.  All three either owned or worked for companies that sold the documents to clients, including law firms and a public reporting company.
