Cohens Faces New Charges

CohensA truck driver from New York City, accused of killing a Sellersville man earlier this month by causing a collision in Hatfield Township, faces new charges. 42-year-old Ernest Cohens (pictured here) of the Bronx was charged last week with homicide by vehicle, flight to avoid apprehension, recklessly endangering another person and numerous motor vehicle violations, including driving while his license was suspended.  It has been suspended a total of 22 times.  Court documents say the collision occurred while he was trying to make a u-turn with his tractor-trailer across all travel lanes on Route 309.  His truck collided with a motorcycle driven by 55-year-old Terry Kriebel, who was killed.  At an appearance Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Kenneth Deatelhauser in Souderton, Cohens came face-to-face with Kriebel’s family.  He said he was truly sorry, but Kriebel’s daughter Tammy said, “Sorry doesn’t cut it.  I have to live without my father, and my kids have to grow up without their grandfather.”  The new charge is possession of child pornography.  Police found it on his cell phone following his arrest on the other charges.
