A Hatfield Township woman who admitted calling 911 with a phony report about a shooting has been given 11 1/2 to 23 months in Montgomery County Prison, followed by three years probation. 57-year-old Brenda Sellers pleaded guilty to falsely alarming a public safety agency. When police arrived at her Oak Park Road home last August she told them her husband had been shot and killed, but when they reached him on his cell phone he was very much alive. He said his wife had a drinking problem and she probably made up the story. Her blood alcohol level was more than 3 1/2 times the legal limit for driving.
