Fire Sunday afternoon heavily damaged a historic farmhouse in New Britain Township, on Barner Road near Peace Valley Park. Flames destroyed the roof and a third-floor attic, but firefighters were able to save most of the house. The cause is under investigation, but owner Bob Goldman says he suspects that an ember from the chimney ignited the roof of his home, which was built in the 1740’s. He says he will re-build the damaged areas. The 45-acre farm is preserved under the Bucks County Open Space Program.
