Weight Loss Doc Faces Indecent Assault Charges

OrenA Montgomery County weight loss doctor is accused of sexually assaulting female patients during their visits. 64-year-old Doctor Arie Oren (pictured here), who lives in Lower Merion, operated Conshohocken Weight Control on West Third Avenue.  He is charged with aggravated indecent assault.  The alleged incidents occurred between September and December of last year.  Prosecutors say he groped or fondled at least six patients, and told one her visit was on the house because she was so hot.  District Attorney Risa Ferman says patients go to doctors for help, looking at them as people they can trust.  She says for a woman to go to a doctor looking for help with weight loss, which is such a personal matter, and then have the doctor touching her sexually, making personal comments and trying to kiss her, is a complete betrayal of what the doctor is supposed to be doing.
