A Towamencin man who admitted committing more than 40 burglaries around Montgomery County between July and December of 2008 has been given 17 1/2 to 35 years in state prison. 44-year-old Christopher Homoney pleaded guilty earlier this year to felony burglary. Court documents say he broke into homes in Abington, East Norriton, Montgomery, Upper Dublin, Upper Providence and West Norriton Townships, as well as Bridgeport, Collegeville and Lansdale Boroughs. The burglaries were committed during the daytime at apartment and townhouse complexes, where he forced his way in. He was arrested in December of 2008 after police, acting on a tip, set up surveillance at the Whitpain Hills development off Route 73 in Whitpain Township and saw him leaving a home where he had been staying. Police spotted his car there after a witness to a burglary at the Crystal Terrace Apartments in Lansdale gave them a description. He apologized Monday at his sentencing in Montgomery County Court, saying he stole to feed his drug addiction.
