Pennsylvania State Police are investigating how as many as 32 students showed up drunk at the Methacton High School senior prom. It was held Saturday, May 21, at the Valley Forge Convention Center. Many of them arrived on the same private bus, rented by one student’s mother, and they had attended a pre-prom party at a Worcester home. No one is saying at this time whether any adult will be charged with providing alcohol for minors. Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman says parents should be patient while state police do their job, and Methacton Superintendent of Schools Timothy Quinn says he believes adolescent alcohol abuse is very serious, and the students involved will be disciplined, but all student disciplinary matters are confidential.
