Bucks Co Park Vandalized

wnpv_police_beatVandals caused heavy damage late Monday night or early Tuesday morning at a local park in Bucks County. They smashed holes in the walls, apparently by throwing rocks and kicking and punching them, on a building housing restrooms at Roberts Ridge Park on Frost Lane near Goodnoe Elementary School in Newtown Township.  They also ripped a door off the hinges, cracked solar panlels in the roof and damaged a pavilion roof. Trash was strewn around a playground, but equipment in it was not damaged.  Police Chief Rick Pasqualini says the restrooms are so badly damaged they will probably be demolished, and reconstructing the building could cost more than $35,000.  The last time police checked the park was at about 9:00pm Monday.  It has no lights and no locked gate.  The chief says a Newtown Township Public Works Department employee spotted the damage as he drove by on his way to work Tuesday morning.
