Teen Gets Life In Norristown Killing

prison_1A Montgomery County judge has given a Philadelphia man, convicted of killing a Norristown man at the front door of his home, life in prison without parole. Jurors found 19-year-old Leveel Butler-Hayes guilty of second degree murder earlier this year for killing 48-year-old Stanford Jackson.  They also found him guilty of robbing Jackson’s nephew, Clifford Smith.  The murder and robbery happened in March of last year outside Jackson’s East Wood Street home.  Moments after the robbery, Butler-Hayes shot Jackson as he stood in his doorway ordering the gunman to leave.  At his sentencing Wednesday Jackson’s sister, Marian Fry, faced Butler-Hayes and told him his violent act affected many lives, taking a link from the family chain.  Then she asked him, “For what, to play gangster?”
