Guilty Plea In Bucks Co Political Corruption Case

Bucks_County_CourthouseThe first of four defendants has admitted her role in a Bucks County row office corruption scheme. 53-year-old Candace Quinn of Bristol pleaded guilty to theft, conspiracy, obstructing law enforcement and other offenses Wednesday in county court.  She was an administrator in the office of long-time Register of Wills Barbara Reilly, who is accused of requiring employees to do political work on county time, paying them under the table with illegal comp time.  Quinn was in charge of the “Pink Book,” where handwritten records were kept of the comp time, which was not documented in any official records.  She admitted shredding the book, which is now in a bag full of scraps that the FBI will try to piece together in time for Reilly’s trial, which starts in November.  Quinn has agreed to testify against Reilly and the other defendants, but so far the prosecution has not asked for her help.
