A Lower Bucks County woman convicted of first degree murder for beating her mother to death with a baseball bat, and then setting her on fire, has been given life in prison without parole. 25-year-old Rebecca Olenchock killed her 44-year-old mother, Kimberly Venose, in October of last year at the makeshift shack they shared in a Bristol Township homeless encampment. Rebecca was arrested days later in Johnson City, Tennessee, after driving 570 miles to visit a boyfriend she met on the internet. The homeless encampment was at a former Nike Missile site, behind the Bristol Plaza on Durham Road in Bristol Township. They had been living there for about two years, after losing their Levittown home to foreclosure. Her lawyer said arguments Olenchock and her mother had over how to get out of their deplorable living conditions led to the killing.
