A young driver has admitted striking and seriously injuring a 16-year-old boy in march of last year just off the Wissahickon High School campus. 20-year-old Derrick Glenn of Philadelphia pleaded guilty to assault, causing an accident involving injury while not properly licensed and careless driving. Prosecutors say he ran a stop sign, pushed the accelerator to the floor and hit the victim on a sidewalk at Knight and Houston Roads in Lower Gwynedd after a school dance, and then sped away. Victim Robert Stevens was thrown onto the car’s hood and roof and he fell to the pavement. He was hospitalized for treatment of serious injuries. Stevens and his friends had just left a fundraiser and dance for Ebony Dorsey, a 14-year-old Wissahickon High School freshman who was killed in December of 2007 by her mother’s boyfriend, Mark O’Donnell. He is serving life in prison without parole.
