Towamencin Woman Faces Charges In Two Incidents

CHRISTINA_FITZWATERA Towamencin Township woman arrested recently on two consecutive days is being held for trial on multiple criminal charges. They include endangering the welfare of children.  Police responded to Pudge’s Restaurant on Sumneytown Pike in Kulpsville at about noon on Sunday, January 15, when her two children, a five-year-old girl and an eight-year-old boy, came in to get warm.

At a preliminary hearing Tuesday, a waitress said they were not dressed for the 25-degree weather, with no hats, gloves or winter coats.  Restaurant staff fed them cheesesteaks and soup, and police learned that they lived nearby on Dean Drive.  When they went there 32-year-old Christina Fitzwater (pictured here) came downstairs apparently under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  She was arrested and the children were placed with a relative.

The following night she was charged with DUI and other offenses after a hit-and-run involving a parked car on Village Way, also near the restaurant.  Police say she had apparently been released on bail from Montgomery County Prison prior to the crash.  A district judge increased her bail and she was sent back.
