Man Charged In Fatal Bucks Co Hit-Run

Police say a Bucks County man was wasted early Sunday morning, February 19, when he struck and killed a pedestrian. 23-year-old Charles Horrocks of Bristol Township is charged with vehicular homicide and other offenses in the death of 36-year-old Eric Beck of Falls Township.  Police say he was traveling about 60 miles per hour in an area posted at 35 mph when he illegally passed a car on the right, hitting Beck and sending him flying over the car’s roof.

Court documents say a friend named Sean Carey told police he had been drinking with Horrocks and another man at the nearby Stadium Bar, and they were all drunk, but the driver had sobered up by the time police caught up with him a day later, and prosecutors say it would be hard to prove in court that he was drunk.

The victim was struck and killed shortly after midnight Saturday, a short distance from Hurricane Jack’s Restaurant and Bar on New Falls Road in Bristol Township, where he had just left a birthday party he attended with his brother and several friends.
