Judge Finds Accused Baby Killer’s Confession Admissible

Jameel_EastA Towamencin Township man accused of killing his baby son has lost an effort to keep a confession out of his trial. A Montgomery County judge has ruled that his statements to detectives were not coerced, and are therefore admissible in court.

23-year-old Jameel East (pictured here) of Lantern Lane is charged with third degree murder in the death of three-month-old Enzo East in June of 2011.  A forensic pathologist who conducted an autopsy found that he died of blunt trauma to the head.

Court documents say East initially gave police conflicting stories about how the injuries were accidental, but he finally told them he became overwhelmed after the baby vomited on him, so he went into the bathroom and struck his son’s head on a hard counter between two sinks.  His trial is scheduled for May.
