The skeletal remains of a human body were found late Thursday morning in Towamencin Township.
A construction worker who was working on a Pennsylvania Turnpike widening project found them in a muddy area overgrown with weeds off Sumneytown Pike west of the Kulpsville Holiday Inn.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating because they were found on turnpike property.
The dead person appeared to be a man, and identifying characteristics include a lot of dental work and evidence that he may have had heart surgery.
A gun was found nearby, but there were no signs of foul play, and police are checking out missing person reports, records of vehicles towed from the hotel parking lot and other things.
