Home-Invasion Murder Investigation Continues

An investigation continues into Friday morning’s home-invasion robbery and murder in Hilltown.

Local police, Bucks County Detectives, The FBI and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms are all involved.

Police say two men entered the Swartley Road house through a first-floor bedroom window around 6:00am Friday, January 18, and tied up 48-year-old Joseph Canazaro, his girlfriend and twelve-year-old son and searched the house for valuables.

The woman managed to free herself and the boy around 10:00am and she called 911, but that call was cut short.

She fled the house with the boy, drove to a nearby business and called again, telling dispatchers Canazaro was kidnapped.  By the time police got to the house he was dead.

Authorities are looking for a Latino man and an Asian man who got away with an undetermined number of firearms from Canazaro’s collection.
