Franconia Twp. Man Faces Probation on Animal Cruelty
A Franconia Township man is sentenced to 4-years probation. Police say, Earl Heitz 3rd was charged with cruelty to animals and weapons offenses in connection with a March 21st incident, where police and animal control officers were called to his home by concerned neighbors for an injured goat and other animals that were living in poor conditions. His home was eventually deemed unlivable by the township, but police also found guns, which Heitz was not permitted to have due to a previous conviction. Police left the residence after a condemned sign was posted. When police returned, they found Heitz at the home with an array of dogs running around. Police arrested him and charged him with possessing weapons for a person prohibited.
