Man Takes Guilty Plea in Death of Pennridge Graduate

One of two men accused in the killing of Pennridge graduate, 21-year-old Kevin Figaniak, pleads guilty to involuntary manslaughter in connection with the August 31st assault of Figaniak and another person, just blocks from the campus of Wheeling Jesuit University at around 1:30 in the morning. Figaniak, a student at Wheeling Jesuit University, died later that day in a Pittsburgh hospital.

As part of his plea deal, 23 year old, Jarrett Chandler of Louisiana will spend a year behind bars, pay a one-thousand dollar fine and testify against, 22 year-old, Craig Peacock of Clewiston, Florida, who prosecutors say was the aggressor, which lead to head trauma for Figaniak. Peacock will face court proceedings in march. His trial is set of April 29th.

Peacock and Chandler attacked Figaniak after bars were letting out in Wheeling. Chandler and Peacock were working in Wheeling for a gas company. Former teammates of Kevin Figaniak, who played lacrosse and ice hockey at Pennridge High School, held a memorial hockey game in his honor on December 30th against Flyers alumni.
