A review of financial and operational controls at Lansdale Borough Hall is underway. Leon LaRosa is a Litigation Support Services Consultant with Amper Certified Public Accountants of Jenkintown. He addressed Borough Council this week, saying he will answer questions about certain transactions under former Borough Manager Lee Mangan.
“We all know that there have been questions about certain activities, certain financial transactions et cetera. I think you want to clear the air. That’s been my understanding.”
The review started in late July, with a focus on whether there was any abuse of authority in spending public funds, and he says he has already found weak internal controls and irregularities in purchasing. The review will cost the borough no more than $85,000.
