Fitzpatrick Blasts Obamacare

wnpv_politicsFormer Bucks County Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick says the healthcare reform bill congress passed earlier this year is very unpopular with voters in the county, and Congressman Patrick Murphy knew that before he voted for the bill. “If it was popular Patrick Murphy would have had town hall meetings to promote it, to educate the public and  to answer their questions.  He was in hiding because he knew it was unpopular, but he had decided that his vote was given to Nancy Pelosi long before the bill was crafted.  He votes with her 97 percent of the time, including on the Obamacare bill.”

He says he has read the bill, he knows what’s in it, and it amounts to false advertising.

“There’s a provision to hire 14,000 IRS agents to enforce all of the tax provisions in the bill, so if you actually read the 2,500 page bill, which I have and I’m not sure many members of congress did before they voted for it, you will quickly determine that it’s not a healthcare bill.  It’s a tax bill masquerading as a healthcare bill.  I think we need to repeal the bill.”

Fitzpatrick says he will push for a separate bill on each health care issue if he is elected to congress, with an up or down vote on each one.  Fitzpatrick is a Republican running against incumbent Democrat Patrick Murphy in the November 2 election.  He appeared Wednesday on the WNPV talk program Comment Please by Univest.
