Norristown officials are making plans for improvements at Riverfront Park along the Schuylkill. They held a public meeting Tuesday night to hear what residents would like to see at the four acres of open sapce where Haws Avenue ends near the water. The park currently lacks some basic conveniences. Public restrooms are among the upgrades under discussion. Other improvements on the table include more trash cans, benchs and grill stations. Bike and boat rentals were also discussed. Norristown officials acknowledge that money is scarce for park improvements but say they need a master plan in hand to be able to take advantage of opportunities when they arise.
