The Pennsylvania Senate has confirmed Newtown attorney James McMaster as an interim Bucks County Common Pleas Court Judge. He will fill the seat David Heckler vacated late last year to run for district attorney. The 44-to-5 vote comes just days after State Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald Castille asked the senate to help balance the judiciary’s budget by halting confirmation proceedings. McMaster started his own law firm with a partner in 1983, and his practice has been focused on local government work for townships and school districts.
