A natural gas company has given up its effort to drill in Upper Bucks County. Arbor Resources of Michigan has withdrawn its Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection permit to drill for gas in Nockamixon Township. The township supervisors and the Delaware Riverkeeper Network have argued against the drilling for years, saying the company had to comply with local zoning and land development requirements. The company had argued that the state oil and gas act trumped local rules.
