Officials in one Upper Bucks County township want massage parlors and their employees to be licensed. The Springfield Township Supervisors are preparing an ordinance requiring new and existing massage parlors to apply for a license every year at a cost of $100. They would be inspected for cleanliness, and would not be allowed to operate before 8:00am or after 10:00pm. The ordinance would also specify how much clothing a masseuse must wear. This comes after ten women were arrested on prostitution charges Friday night in raids on five Bucks County massage parlors, including the Hilltop Spa and the Wellness Center Spa, both in Springfield Township. The others are the Pine Tree Spa in Nockamixon, the Sun Acupressure Massage Parlor in Doylestown Township and The End Spa in Quakertown.
