Property taxes are on the way up in Lansdale. Borough officials Wednesday night said the preliminary budget for next year that will be put on the table in less than two weeks will end the deficit spending that has drained $10,000,000 from the savings of the borough in five years. It will includes a property tax hike of about two-thirds. That translates into $161 for the average Lansdale homeowner. Borough officials say previous councils are to blame for the proposed tax increase because they used reserve funds to balance past budgets and drained the savings of the borough in the process.
