The Towamencin Township Supervisors have cut back the hours for door-to-door sales people. Until recently their cutoff time was 9:00pm. They are now allowed to sell only from 10:00am to 6:00pm weekdays, 10:00 to 5:00 Saturdays and never on Sundays. Chairman Dan Littley says they are protecting senior citizens.
“People are getting older, and seniors are common prey for people who want to make a quick buck and run scams.”
He says sales people and solicitors also need to buy a permit and display it prominently if they go door-to-door.
