Lansdale Borough Council Wednesday night received the results of the operational and financial controls review it commissioned last summer. Investigators scrutinized the administration of former Borough Manager Lee Mangan and found no personal dishonesty on the part of any Lansdale employee. What the audit did reveal was a lack of formal policies and procedures that investigators say cost taxpayers money. Other problems highlighted by the investigation include slipshod review of vendor invoices, purchases that were not made in compliance with the Borough Code and haphazard use of borough credit cards. The audit is costing the borough less than $80,000.
