Montgomery and Bucks County State Senator Bob Mensch (pictured here) says the effort to boost the Upper Perkiomen Valley’s economy, in cooperation with the local Chamber of Commerce, is making progress, especially in one area. “The part that we have expanded the most quickly is the education, and we are working with the employers generally for job re-training, for management training, for ESL (English as a Second Language), which is becoming an important issue to make management able to communicate with the workforce as our society evolves. We’ve been partnered with Montgomery County Community college, as well as with the Upper Perkiomen School District.”
Mensch says they are still working on a business inventory to determine where new businesses can set up shop, but the college and school district are great partners. He says they are also making progress in attracting eco tourism to the Green Lane Park and Reservoir, and a 5 K race that should attract thousands of runners is set for next year.
