Montgomery County Commissioner Jim Matthews had his eye on a possible appointment as Pennsylvania Banking Secretary under Governor Tom Corbett (pictured here), but the incoming chief executive instead chose Berks County Banker Glenn Moyer. Matthews has been in the banking business for 35 years. He says he could still get some kind of an appointment from the new governor but, if not, he will run for another term as commissioner. County Republican Committee Chairman Bob Kerns says it’s unlikely that Matthews will get an endorsement, but he can do what he wants.
